27 So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
These guys were with Jesus all day and experienced His power and wisdom before this moment. But why did they still marvel when Jesus calmed the storm with His words? I wonder if it deepened their knowledge of Jesus… Like what type of question was, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Was it a rhetorical question or was it a sincere question? It made me think of how I would respond in that moment. Would going through the storm help me know more of who Jesus is or would it create doubt?
What type of statements do the storms in your life produce? Do they make you question God more or does it reveal more of who He is in your life? My prayer today is that we take a second look at why we are going through whatever we are going through. May every situation, struggle, and storm bring us closer to God. May those moments close the distance we feel with God. How can you know God more today?
