1 Cor. 13:11
11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Teens usually have this “forever young” mentality that gives them the idea that they could leave so many things undone until tomorrow…but those days are behind me now.
It’s been said that real maturity is the time of life, that if you had the time, you’d have the time of your life. As I continue to age… I mean, become more of a seasoned individual… I’m realizing more and more that life is really nothing but a “vapor” (James 4:14). We are not here for long, and as time goes by I’m learning more about the urgency to maximize our time here. This Amptack is for those who are learning that with me. Here are some encouraging quotes to keep in your back pocket:
• It’s sad to grow old, but nice to ripen (that means you’re ready for reaping)
• You’re never too old to grow up. It’s never too late to change and it’s never too early to start pursuing your purpose.
• The purpose isn’t a destination, that’s why you can live it out now.
• It’s about completion and not competition. You are called to finish the race, not to win it. Stop comparing yourself with others.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
…And the only way to finish the race is to run the race. We either kill ourselves to win the race and burn ourselves out on the first lap, or we never leave the starting line because we feel we can’t win. But be encouraged- GO! & KEEP GOING! God is with you.
