Psalm 62:5-8 (ESV)
5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah
I got good news for you. Even though your soul has to wait in silence, it doesn’t mean that God is still. The Psalmist came to this revelation and wrote it down in the corridors of eternity. Notice how he views God in the “waiting period” of whatever he was going through.
• “my hope IS from him”
• “He only IS my rock and my salvation…”
• “God IS a refuge for us…”
“IS” is a present indicative. Our hope isn’t that He WILL do something, but that He is already who He is and He is doing something always. You might not realize it or know exactly what He is up to but He IS your mighty rock. Reveal that today in how we view things. Trust in Him at all times.
