Hebrews 10:23-25 MSG
Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps His word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.

If I’m honest, I’m not really a fan of most Olympic sports and couldn’t even explain the rules of at least half of them. But this winter when the Olympics start up, I’m sure I’ll watch at least a few hours of sports with names like curling and skeleton. Why? Because there is a sense of unity and excitement in watching athletes representing an entire nation trying to win a gold medal for their country.

The scripture above details two specific ways to keep our faith strong: a steady focus on the promises of God and a commitment to consistently worship together. Having a deep-rooted knowledge of God’s promises helps remind us of the many reasons we have for excitement and passion in our walk with Him. While gathering together allows us to lift up and encourage each other in those promises.

As disciples of Jesus, our victory is already guaranteed. Whether it’s on a Sunday morning or any other time during the week, let’s remember to take the time to celebrate and honor Him together.
