Revelation 3:15-16 ESV
I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot.  Would that you were either cold or hot!  So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Take a minute and think back to when you first got your driver’s license.  If you were like me, you wanted to drive everywhere.  Sometimes I would get in my car and drive around for an hour just to turn around and come back home.  When something is new, there tends to be a built-in excitement surrounding it.  Now an hour-long drive is definitely more of a chore to me than something I look forward to.

Sadly, we can just as easily lose passion in our walk with God if we’re not careful.  Lukewarm is defined as “(of liquid or food that should be hot) only moderately warm”.  Lukewarm believers know Christ and because of that fact alone should be on fire for Him!  Yet often they’re living as though He doesn’t even exist.

We’ve all had times when we’ve felt our faith cooling off.  For many of us (including myself) we find it happens most often when we’re too focused on our own lives while forgetting about those around us.  It’s easy to become bored and complacent when all we think of is ourselves.  The world needs to see the love of God through His children more than ever!  Make a conscious decision to show God’s love to someone in your life today.
