Hebrews 12:2 NLT

And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

I watched a couple of football games so far this season where a team needed a “Hail Mary” pass to win the game.  They were behind with only a few seconds to go and had one play to score a touchdown.  It’s funny how everything changes in that moment of desperation.  No one cares about their individual accomplishments or even if the other team intercepts the pass.  All that matters is that they do whatever is needed to get the ball into the end zone by the time the clock hits zero.

In life, however, there is no game clock — none of us are guaranteed anything more on earth than the moment we have right now.  How we react to that statement says a lot about how we’re currently living.  If it fills you with sadness or regret, maybe you’re holding back and playing it safe instead of going all in and making the most of the time you’ve been given.

There’s a race for all of us to run and God wants us to desperately and passionately seek His will every day.  Where has God been leading you out of your comfort zone to follow His plans for the next step in your life?
